Action Details: Harvest

Actions: Identify traditional hunting areas to manage CAFN harvest in coordination with moose management units.

Traditional hunting areas such as around Champagne, Six Mile, Klukshu, and Dalton Post are known and additional information could be obtained by looking for other areas where hunting is focused such as old village sites, traditional family areas, traplines etc. These should be mapped for coordination with the moose management units and the resident permit system. In certain circumstances it may be necessary to request that traditional hunting areas not be used or to a lesser extent. This would be voluntary by the First Nation hunters.
