As the territorial population increases and hunting opportunities decline, this is becoming an increasingly common request but one which must also acknowledge the rights of other Yukon hunters (mainly in Whitehorse) for whom there are no local hunting opportunities. Objective 16.1.1.10 of the Umbrella Final Agreement is, "to deal fairly with all Yukon residents who use Fish and Wildlife resources in the Yukon" and this is a principal yardstick by which requests for all regulation changes are measured by the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board.
