Concern: Local residents have little opportunity to hunt moose.

Moose permit applications are administered by a Yukon-wide lottery. Last year 105 applications were received for 20 permits in Zone 7. Under such conditions, it is rare that local residents get a chance to hunt in their own area. This, in turn, reduces local support for wildlife recovery efforts since no special consideration is given to the community which is being most impacted by such programs.
