Action Details: Non-Consumptive

Action: Get community input on value and use of corridors.

Moose viewing from roadside would not be feasible without protection from hunting. This is usually accomplished by a no-hunting or no-shooting corridor but such corridors are sensitive issues and need to be thoroughly understood and discussed before any decisions are made. In particular, there are many options for corridor management that must be appreciated before an informed discussion can take place. Since this is a Yukon-wide concern, the task of compiling such options for public review could be taken on by the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board. Based on the YFWMB findings, the ARRC could begin public discussion about road corridors in the Alsek Area.
