Action Details: Populations Concern: Variations in moose movements/distributions related to snow conditions are unknown. It is necessary to know where moose winter and what routes they use to get to their winter ranges because of the implications to population management, i.e. moose may be counted in one Management Unit but actually harvested in another unit which would make relating harvest to population status more confusing until such changes in distribution are better understood. For similar reasons it is also important to relate moose movements to the Haines Road. The existing snow plotting program supported by DIAND is being terminated due to funding constraints. KNP does not know if they can continue their part of this as their activities were combined.
