Action Details: Populations Concern: Moose cannot be regularly monitored with standard "counting" method The most accurate way to count moose involves extensive use of helicopters which are too expensive for counting on a regular basis in the Alsek planning area. Supercubs may be used in place of helicopters to cut costs but so far the results are not as accurate. It is believed, however, that the accuracy of the supercub method could be improved if some time was devoted to it.
