Action: Set up on-the-land observers program

A network of observers should be established in the planning area based on where certain reliable people are known to spend considerable time on the land. This will likely be done with consideration given to traditional hunting areas, trappers, outfitters, wilderness guides etc. and would comprise about 10-20 individuals. A means of recording information and some instruction about the need to 'do things the same way' will be required. Perhaps an annual gathering of observers would be appropriate for summarizing, sharing and comparing information. This could follow along the lines of the successful traditional knowledge workshops done in the community.
