Communications

Current Status:

According to the 1993/96 plan, the MDRRC initiated a communications strategy which included: presentations at the school, two community bulletin boards, public meetings and questionnaires, newsletters, newspaper articles and construction of a 3-dimensional model of NNDTT.

Concern:
People need to be kept up-to-date and have input to wildlife issues.

Solution:
Use a variety of ways to inform people and get their input to wildlife issues.

Wildlife Viewing

Current Status:

There are presently no designated wildlife viewing areas in NNDTT. Under direction of the 1993/96 plan YTG was approached to establish a wildlife viewing area but it was reported to be too costly. A pamphlet showing places where wildlife may be seen in NNDTT was not produced.

Concern:
There are no non-consumptive benefits of wildlife for visitor to NNDTT.

Solution:
Provide wildlife viewing opportunities for the public in NNDTT.
