Measure calf/adult ratio

In the absence of a planned moose census, annual late winter calf/adult ratios are an essential component of monitoring the status of moose. These figures will be used in comparison with other indicators, such as on-the-land reports, and other information from the plan (e.g. wolf numbers, to judge how well moose are doing in the area). Because these counts are conducted in single passenger aircraft, additional personnel cannot be included in the survey. However, the results of the calf/adult counts will be forwarded to the Ross River First Nation upon completion. Cost: $10,000
