Catch & Release Fishing

Catch and release fishing is contrary to First Nations beliefs and traditions. RRDC tradition is to harvest fish for subsistence and there is a concern that the catch and release system for recreational angling is contrary to their beliefs and traditions. These concerns have been expressed elsewhere by First Nations in the Yukon and therefore a recommendation for public discussion on the matter was made from the workshop. (Recommendation R-4)
