Habitat

The majority of habitat concerns in this section are related to mining exploration and development in RRDTT. Presently, such activities are regulated under the newly passed federal Quartz and Placer mining acts neither of which contain adequate protection for wildlife habitats.

The recommendation from this section echoes the previous habitat recommendation for specific legislation related to habitat protection, however, here the recommendation is directed at the future Yukon mining acts which will replace the federal acts some time after devolution. (Recommendation R-5)
